Students involved in the W.O. Smith private lesson program are offered one-on-one instruction once a week with a qualified volunteer teacher. Instruction is offered for the following instruments:
piano
guitar and bass
drums and percussion
brass instruments
woodwind instruments
string instruments
voice
Instructors
Generally, volunteer private teachers donate an hour of their time per week, teaching two students for a half-hour each. If you are interested in volunteering as a teacher at W.O. Smith Music School, please click here.
Requirements
Students must be between the ages of 9 and 18 years old. Students must be proficient in reading music OR have completed the Basic Musicianship class at W.O. Smith.
Schedule
Private lessons are offered during school hours, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am–6:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am–12:00 pm. Lesson times are based on the schedules of the participating student and his or her teacher.
